Our Cheerleading Program is offered to both a beginner and an advanced level student. Both levels provide instruction in tumbling, jumping skills, and stunting for those interested.
The tumble trak and trampoline aid in learning jumping skills while our resi-pits and tumble trak provide a safe area for learning tumbling skills.
Our cheerleading program consists of warm-ups: jumping, straddle and pike stretches, split stretches (right, left, and center) and bridges. Jumping skills are also focused on and/or actual cheers or stunting basics.
The class then moves on to the floor work which includes slow tumbling, e.g. rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, back bends, etc. We incorporate drill stations for back over the back handsprings including: round-off jumps, round-off jump up and back drills, jump up and over the back handspring rounded lead-up drill mats, and spotted back handsprings on the wedge mats and/or floor if the student is capable.
Stretching & conditioning is always done at the end of the class.
